September Shenanigans
Terri
It’s been a pretty exciting few weeks! Since my two releases last month, I’ve taken part in both a Zoebub and a Bookbub! If ever you wanted my books free, this month was your moment. And boy has it been a ride!
But that’s not all! I’ve finished the first messy draft in my next novella, and I’ll be announcing its cover reveal in the next few weeks. That will be on Facebook and Instagram, so make sure you follow me for that. I’ve also been sharing sneak peeks from the drafting process, though as always, the story is a hot mess. They always are until I smooth them into something resembling a book.
Even so, Cecily and Percy have stolen my heart. He loves her so much, and over the course of the book, she learns to love him, too. And the first steamy scene I wrote? Yes, it’s a brag, because at least while writing, I felt like it was one of the hottest scenes I’ve ever written. Often, I try really hard (pun so intended) to tap into the emotions of the scene, but this was a little carnal.
If it doesn’t make it into the final novella, I will be devastated. But never fear, I’ll share it as a newsletter exclusive.
I also have some more exciting news. I have (finally) got around to the bonus material for my two latest books! The Picture of Desire and His Ample Desire. There’s a bonus scene (that I cut for pacing’s sake—boo) from Picture featuring Henry and Louisa at an opera, and Henry attempting to keep a straight face as Louisa explores, and an extended epilogue twenty-five years in the future for His Ample Desire.
These books are so very close to me for different reasons. I love the complicated, difficult dynamics of Henry and Louisa. It was such a hard book to write—so much more than a mere fun romp, but so very rewarding to see them finally find the happy ever after they wanted. And, of course, curvy Caroline—a woman after my own heart (and stomach)—overcoming life’s difficulties to find a man who will fight for her no matter what.
But, I have to say, I am loving writing something that’s perhaps a little more silly.
Here’s the current opening, raw and unedited (and probably subject to change):
Sir Percy strolled along the quiet, empty street towards his home on Harley Street, his cane in one hand and an armful of regret in the other. The night was still, mist gathering by the lamps in soft tendrils, and damp gathered on his fine woollen coat. Really, he ought to have called for his carriage. The walk had been to clear his head, but he wasn’t drunk, just a fool.
And, if he was honest, he was dreading the confrontation that would arise when he finally arrived home. Soon after, no doubt, his wife would return home and he would have all the leisure in the world to regret his decisions. There were plenty. In no particular order he had: pretending to the world and his wife that he had a mistress; attending the opera with said mistress—a notorious lady he had no feelings for; marrying his wife.
Perhaps there was an order.
Perhaps his marriage was at the top of the list.
Curves & Cravats
There are four more Curves & Cravats books released this month! Please do check out:
The Viscount’s Curvy Bride by Viola Grey
The One with the Duke’s Curvy Bride by Eliana Piers
His Regency Goddess by Steffy Smith
How Her Curves Won the West by Wynter Ryan
All books are in KU and are standalone, and all feature fantastically curvy ladies.
I’ll be back in October with the next set of C&C releases, all of which you can find here.
Until next time
