Cover Reveal and Cornwall Exploration

It’s September! Autumn (or fall) has finally arrived, and I have my nose to the metaphorical grindstone. Oliver’s book has been SO DIFFICULT to write, but after ripping it apart an embarrassing number of times, I think I’m on the home straight.
AND, excitingly, I have the cover! That’s right. Look at this beauty!

Some of my favourite tropes are there. The wrong sister (and the wrong bride). Fake marriage! Only one bed! (oh no, what SHALL they do). Plus road trip and light kink?
If you want to sign yourself the hell up, you can preorder now!

I’ve been on an Aydra Richards binge recently and I’ve just finished Deal with a Notorious Devil. Lots of good fun! (And lots of grovelling—Aydra is excellent at grovelling). Plus, very hot. Go check her out!
I’ve also finally been enjoying Kerrigan Bryne. Dancing with Danger being the most recent one I’ve read. If you haven’t already read her, then definitely give her books a try!
That’s all from me this time, folks. If you’re interested in following my contemporary and romantasy journey as Ellie Harrow, feel free to check out my Instagram or sign up to my newsletter.
Lots of love,

Hello from not-so-sunny Cornwall! I’m here on my research trip, currently 465 miles from home and wondering about the sanity of spending two weeks in a caravan in September with two soggy doggos! Hopefully the forecast is correct and the rain will cease tomorrow.
However…
I spent a shower-dodging day here at this beautiful Georgian mansion where I made some interesting discoveries.

The Larder: a familiar accoutrement to the big house, I didn’t know the origin of the word came from larding the meat - a process of covering raw meat with fat (lard) to keep it from going off.

And how about this? Found on one of the staircase half-landings, can you guess its purpose? Answer at the end of the newsletter!

Before I head out on my next fact-finding mission (to research the area’s mining history), a quick reminder to check out these Kindle Unlimited romances if you haven’t already done so.
For those of you without KU, I’m hoping to join a free or 99p promotion in a month or two, so watch out for that.
So - did you guess the purpose of the tapless sink?
It was used for emptying all those baths that kept being requested in bedchambers. While there was no alternative but to carry buckets of hot water up from the kitchens, this was a true labour-saving device from the waste water! Ingenious!
Until next time,
Kiera
